Use Your Autodesk Software when Traveling

By Anna Liza Montenegro | Subscription

Can you use your Autodesk software when traveling abroad? Can you use your software away from your usual work location?

Global Travel Rights are a benefit of maintenance plans and subscriptions which permits the use of products and services covered by those maintenance plans or subscriptions worldwide while traveling outside the country of purchase. These rights are provided as part of the subscription or maintenance plan contract.  There is no form to fill out or process required to enable the benefit.

For Global Travel Rights to be applicable, the maintenance plan or subscription must have been purchased in the individual or legal entity’s home country. A “home country” is the country or jurisdiction in which an individual resides or the country of incorporation for a company or other legal entity. Per the Global Travel Rights benefit, when purchasing licenses outside the home country, you may only use those licenses in the country of purchase.

Note for European Union Residents: If Your Home Country is a member country of the European Union or the European Free Trade Association, then for the purposes of your maintenance plan or subscription Agreement all/any of the countries of the European Union and the European Free Trade Association shall be considered Your Home Country.

Users and Benefits

The following list provides additional information about which users may benefit from Global Travel Rights:

  • Maintenance plans and subscriptions to software products: Only users covered by a maintenance plan or a subscription to a software product may benefit from Global Travel Rights in relation to the software product covered by that maintenance plan or subscription.Users covered are either the individual person or the specific legal entity who purchased the maintenance plan or subscription. In the case of specific legal entities, only employees or onsite contractors of that legal entity are covered users. Employees and onsite contractors of affiliates (i.e. sister companies in the same group of companies) of that legal entity are NOT covered users.Note for subscriptions with single-user access to software products: Subscriptions with single-user access incorporate licensing technology whereby only a specified named user may access the software. That specified named user is given a password protected log-on to access the benefits of the subscription. In the case of subscription with single-user access purchased by an individual, only the individual may be named as the named user. In the case of subscription with single-user access purchased by a legal entity, only employees or onsite contractors of that legal entity may be named as the named user.

Each Named User must (i) be identified by a unique user id (“Autodesk ID”),”), (ii) be individuals, not groups or generic logins (unless specifically otherwise authorized by Autodesk), and (iii) may not be shared with anyone else.
